Cobra KING TEC Golf Hybrid

 

Cobra have always been one of the golf industry’s most innovative manufacturers, and often lead the way in introducing technology that changes the face of golf club design. Their latest club release promises to push the boundaries once again, but this time in the design of a hybrid. Hybrids have been a staple part of golfers bag’s for over twenty years now as they provide a supremely versatile option for both off the tee and the fairway. Up until now though, hybrids have not really had the same kind of ball flight altering tech as drivers and fairway woods which has often been a negative for the better player.

 

Cobra look set to change this though, with the release of the Cobra King Tech Hybrid. Its slightly oversized head not only provides a more confidence inspiring profile at address, but also gives the designers more scope for introducing some superb ball flight altering tech that will tick all the boxes for the better player whilst affording plenty of playability for the higher handicappers. The adjustable weight system found on the sole consists of three adjustable weights (2 x 12g, 1 x 2g) which can be positioned in different configurations to achieve the desired result. The Cobra KING TECH Hybrid is the first hybrid Cobra have produced that features their explosive PWRSHELL face which has proved to be a massive success in the SZ and RadSpeed irons. The PWRSHELL is a face cup design which wraps around the sole to return more energy to the ball at impact for maximum ballspeeds and impressive distances. The clubhead has been constructed with a lightweight carbon fibre crown which has saved 10grams and has allowed Cobra to lower the CG which helps to produce high launch and low spin.

 

Aesthetically the Cobra KING TECH Hybrid is a stunning club which sits behind the ball beautifully at address with its sporty two tone carbon crown proving to be a particularly appealing design feature. The leading edge is more “squared off” than on many other hybrid designs, and this will be extremely well received by the better players. The loft of the KING TECH hybrid is easily adjusted by simply altering the MYFly hosel to a different setting, and allows for changes of loft of +/- 1.5 degrees from the initial loft that can further dial in your preferred distance and ball flight.
